An Early Start

No rest for the Chiltern Whites supporters who had arranged a 53-seater coach to take them to see the Leeds v WBA game. A beautiful crisp morning, blue skies and the sun thinking about making an appearance, what a fantastic way to spend your Saturday, travelling up to Leeds for yet another Sky 12:30 kick off.

Spirits were high in the group having watch Leeds come through some difficult games over the month of February, with wins notched up against Cardiff, Coventry, Watford, Sunderland and our nearest rivals Sheffield United.

Kick off

Leeds got off to a fast start applying pressure to WBA goal early on, with waves of attack after attack. Then on the 9th minute a wonderful break by Leeds down the left wing, finding James who's normally accustomed to the right curled in an excellent cross, only for Firpo to skip in front of captain Bartley and plant a header firmly in the back of the net of West Brom's goal to make it 1 - 0, what a start by Leeds United!

Undeterred by this, West Brom was not going to take it lying down, they came right back at Leeds, when Armstrong forced Meslier to block his shot. A Tony Mowbray's side favouring an attacking style of their own too. Both teams were having a go, but it was on the 39th minute from a free kick that was played in to the Leeds box, where Furlong's looping header had Meslier's feet firmly planted to the ground and could only watch it fly in across goal to make it 1 - 1.

Second Half

The second was bit of a non-event, the equaliser had taken the sting out of the Leeds attack, the crowd was not as vociferous now, anxiety creeping in. Leeds needed something to get them going again, and on the 63rd minute the crowd started up, urging Leeds, this helped the team, Tanaka and James had shots blocked in quick succession, the volume in the ground increased. Daniel Farke made his usual subs on the 71st minute, Joseph on for Aaronson, Leeds attacked again with Joseph breaking down the left charging down on goal, releasing a shot that hit the bar, unlucky! West Brom responded, forcing Meslier into a save, but as much as each other tried to get the winner, this was going to end up honours even, with both sides sharing the points. Final score Leeds United 1 West Bromwich Albion 1.

Leeds are now unbeaten in 17 games, and the view from the rest of the Championship supporter, feel that Leeds United are champions elect, but as a Leeds fan, we know all too well, that when it comes to Leeds United, nothing can be taken for granted until it's mathematically impossible not to get over the promotion line.
